Meet the Speakers

The Film Poets

The Film Poets have a style that combines artful storytelling with cinematic imagery. They’ve gained over 15-million views on their films and have been featured across dozens of publications. They are based in Alabama but have captured weddings around the world. Couples are drawn to their ability to blend cinematic and documentary styles, and at the Wedding Film Retreat they will share how they master that balance.

Wedding Film Academy, Jordan Bunch Productions and Ladybird Studios

Jordan Bunch is a wedding and commercial filmmaker and photographer, Lumix Global Ambassador and Host of the Wedding Film Academy podcast. He owns both a high-end boutique wedding video/photo company as well as a volume brand, where he employees 12 others, capturing both the big and small budget wedding markets in Central Texas though his unique business approach. He has made a name for himself teaching from coast to coast and interviewing guests for his audience of 25,000+ wedding filmmakers around the world on his weekly podcast.

Life Stage Films & Studio Sherpas

Matt is founder and lead filmmaker at Life Stage Films, a luxury wedding brand based in Wilmington, NC. For 10 years, Matt has been one of the most sought after and referred studios in the southeast, due to his focus on systems, customer experience, and building a solid team that allows the business to work without him. Matt also owns a corporate video brand, co-hosts a podcast for the filmmaker community, and has spoken at numerous industry events.

Sarah and Rick are widely recognized as some of the best storytellers in the industry. Based in Oklahoma, they spend much of their time on the road shooting weddings across the country and internationally. Their work has been featured by Huffington Post, People Magazine, The Today Show, CNN, FOX Sports and NBC Sports Network. With base wedding coverage ranging from $6,200-$10,000, they debunk the myth that you have to live in a major market or strictly shoot “platinum weddings” in order to command such rates.

What to Expect

Arrive in Puerto Vallarta! The staff at our private villa will welcome us with salsa, guac, chips and margaritas. Once everyone makes their way to the villa, we’ll relax and share our first dinner together to get to know one another and prepare for the knowledge-packed days ahead.

Monday will feature classroom style presentations and hands-on training focused on the creative aspect of wedding filmmaking. You’ll have time to mingle and enjoy our two private pools between classes and dinner.

Tuesday will feature classroom style presentations focused on the business-aspect of running a wedding film studio. Soak in more mingle and pool time between sessions and dinner.

Time to explore! Grab your cameras as we get outside of the villa to explore Old Town Puerto Vallarta and capture footage you can use in your own portfolio. You may stay with the group or explore Puerto Vallarta at your leisure if you desire.

We’ll enjoy our final breakfast together and depart the villa by 11am.
